Here comes trouble...
So we decided since Nacho was leaving that we would get a little friend for Simba. She is a little six week old tabby kitten that we got from vet. It's not going quite as planned. Simba doesn't seem to impressed and when the kitten tries to play with her she just hisses... something Simba only ever did when Nacho was being a bully.
Does anyone have any tips to make them like each other? Or is this something that just takes time?

I am sure that members of the CB can give advice. Why don't you send a post to the CB and ask for help?
ReplyDeletePraline is almost 14 and an only kitty, so I'm afraid I can't help.
It will take time. our the mom has found that 2 female cats sometimes take a little longer to get to be furriends than 2 male cats do. Our the mom just throws everyone in a room together and lets us sort it all out. She does not recommend this to others as it could lead to mass destruction of the room in the process. our v-e-t recomments putting baby powder on the hineys of both cats so that they smell alike. It sounds really stoopid, but it does werk. OR take a damp towel, rub it on Simba, then rub it on the kitten so that the kitten smells like Simba. This also works well.
ReplyDeleteForst of all congratulations on your new addition.
ReplyDeleteIt will take time. We got Lola about two weeks after we got Charlie. For the first 3 weeks or so Charlie was a complete bully towards Lola and I really wondered if I had done the right thing. But if you look at the photos I have of them sleeping cuddled up together you would have never of guessed we had such trouble to begin with.
I am not sure if feliway plug in disfusers are available where you are, but they are supposed to help.
